Happy Wednesday, everyone! Starting today, once a week I’ll be posting about inspirational things that I’ve heard/seen just to keep things positive. Sometimes I don’t like reading the news because it’s usually so negative or sensationalized, so I feel like there’s always room for happy stories online. First, I’ll start with some photos that make me inspired (maybe they will for you, too):
This photo is from the cross-country bike trip that we did in the summer of 2008. That’s right– Patrick and I biked across the entire United States! Thinking about cycling on an open road always makes me happy.
This is at the Grand Canyon, again during our bike trip. It makes me feel like I can do anything!
A picture of Patrick during our favorite hike from our honeymoon in Kauai. Best vacation ever!
Me on the Kalalau Trail in Kauai. I never wanted to leave that island!
And now, onto good/inspirational events from the past week:
- -There is a woman at the gym that I go to who is getting skin reduction surgery in November because she’s lost so much weight on her own through working out and changing her diet. It inspires me to see her there and I can’t imagine what a huge effort it must be to change your lifestyle so completely.
- -One of my friends posted online this morning that she gave away her breakfast to a homeless man on the subway and when she got to work, she was surprised to find free bagels there! Talk about karma.
- -Another friend had her coffee order paid for by a random stranger in front of her in line last week.
- -It’s getting close to the holiday season! Tons of delicious pumpkin desserts and pumpkin bread are available now, which is always something to be happy about.
Do you have any positive stories to share from the past week?
