Last weekend, Patrick and I drove up to Northern Virginia for the first of my baby showers. It was great to see so many of my friends and family, but it was also very emotional for me (and made it seem even more real that we’re having a baby!), so it’s taken me a while to write this post.
My good friend Anne let us have the shower at her home and it was perfect! Here are a few pictures from the day:
My friend Mike carved this pumpkin free-hand for the baby! How crazy is that?
My friend Colleen had a customized book made for Baby Anna! It was so sweet!
My mother-in-law also hand-stitched amazing scenes from Eric Carle’s The Very Hungry Caterpillar (my favorite book when I was younger) and had them framed. It’s going to make such a great addition to the nursery!
My friend Stephie bought little Virginia Tech booties for the baby! They’re adorable!
It was a wonderful celebration and I was so happy to be surrounded by such supportive and loving women from different parts of my life. After I opened each present, the person who gave it to me had to say a characteristic that they like about me that they hope is passed on to our daughter, which was so nice to hear! I’m so thankful and grateful to have such amazing friends and family. We also have a great start on things that we need for the baby now!
PS- My husband just started a blog about fatherhood that you should check out!
