32 weeks

Yesterday I was looking back on pictures from my first trimester and I kept thinking, “wow, I was so small!”. It’s hard to imagine now that I’ve somewhat adjusted to the size of my pregnant belly. At the same time, I often find myself thinking, “how is it possible that I’ll continue to get bigger for the next 8 weeks?”. I know that I will because Baby Girl obviously needs to keep growing, but it’s hard to picture my skin stretching any more than it already has.

This week went well. The cramps in my ribs have continued to decrease in both frequency and intensity, which is a huge relief. Also, Baby Anna is moving constantly and vigorously! Patrick has been able to feel it a couple of times and he feels like he’s connected with her :) .

In preparation for our childbirth class next weekend, we’ve started to watch videos about childbirth, labor, and infancy in general. I know that they’re trying to give you a lot of information in a short amount of time so they focus on the essentials and “what could go wrong” side of things, but it’s been stressing me out a little bit. I think I’m going to take a break from the videos for a couple of days and just imagine all of the fun and cute parts of having a baby :) .

  • You are getting HUGE! Also, I mean this in the nicest way possible– but it also looks kind of painful. Your skin is pretty pink in that last picture! See, this is one of the many reasons that I can’t imagine myself pregnant. Haha! Avoid those videos like the plague.

    • It’s not really painful– my skin is mostly just itchy on my stomach. I do get uncomfortable now that the baby is getting so much bigger and presses on my lungs sometimes, but I wouldn’t say that it’s really painful (I do have more trouble sleeping sometimes now, though). We have our baby/childbirth class today, so I’m sure that I’ll have some video-stories to share afterward!
